Volunteer Positions open April 1st at 1 PM for Ocrafolk Festival 2026 and we have many positions to fill! Folks have such a good time volunteering for Ocrafolk, some people say it is the highlight of their weekend (they may be crazy but we love em for it). 4 hours Volunteering = 1 All Weekend Pass. No matter your activity level, we will try to find a job for you. This year we are using a new Bloomerang Volunteer platform. If you volunteered in 2025, chances are you are already registered as an Ocracoke Alive volunteer, enabling you to sign up for Ocrafolk Festival 2026 volunteer slots. If you aren't able to see the 2026 Ocrafolk Volunteer Opportunities, that probably means that you need to sign up as a volunteer with Ocraoke Alive first on Bloomerang. The platform should guide you through that process.

How to sign up to Volunteer (Beginning April 1, 1 PM)
A. Determine Volunteer Job ~ Look at the tasks below and find the job that is right for you. Although you will be able to hear the music from all volunteer locations, the stages may not be visible if you are outside of a stage audience area. Most Volunteer tasks are in 2 hour blocks, so you can select two separate ones to make up your 4 hour time commitment throughout the weekend. Of course, you can do more than 4 hours if you wish!
B. Click the Signups Button at the Bottom of the Page ~ This will take you to our new Bloomerang volunteer page where you signup for shifts.
C. On the Bloomerang Ocrafolk Signups Page ~ Click Signup for more Shifts to get started. If you volunteered in 2026, Bloomerang should recognize your email. If it doesn't, you will have to follow the instructions on the page to signup as an Ocracoke Alive Volunteer. Once this is done, you can view the shifts.
D. For Easier Viewing of the Shifts in Bloomerang, Toggle from Card View to List View
E. Look for an Email in May from from Us Asking for Your Ticket Names ~ We will be in touch with you to assist with your Volunteer Ticket Reservation by mid May.
F. Volunteer check-in at Ocrafolk ~ When you come to Ocrafolk, check in at the Box Office 15 minutes before your scheduled time.
Bloomerang Troubleshooting
1. Trouble signing up more than one person in the schedule. Did you share an email with someone when you signed up for Ocrafolk in 2025? ~ The Bloomerang system likes to have a 1 to 1 ratio of email per person, so if you are trying signup more than one person on the same email address, it may create schedule conflicts. It is best for our records to use different emails and create a separate login for each person, but we can attempt to do a workaround from our end if that is not an option. Please email us at [email protected] if this is the case.
2. Can't view the Ocrafolk Festival 2026 Shifts? ~ If you participated last year as a volunteer, you are probably already in our system. If you can't see the shifts and it seems to redirect you to the home page, it may be that the system needs more profile information from you. The 2026 system will ask you for your availability in your profile, and will only reveal available shifts that are within the days/times that you say you are available. If nothing pops up, you may need to click on the My Overview button and complete more information there.

Volunteer positions:
- Logistics and Setup Team ~ Helps set up festival grounds before the festival, reset the grounds in the morning before the day begins, and break down the festival after is done.
- Harbor Ticket Booth Box Office ~ (Volunteer can be seated) ~ Check in ticket holders (and sell new tickets) and direct folks to festival gate.
- Harbor Merch Booth In Artisan Village (Sell Merch).
- Box Office and Merch Booth Split Shift Learner/Teacher ~ Similar to Box Office and Merch Booth Positions, with the added task that you will learn how our system works, and then will teach then next team of volunteers the system. This position requires that you can become comfortable with our Square Sales System. Not rocket science and can be learned on the spot, but not a job for those who are tech challenged.
- Harbor Gate & Barn Gate Greeters ~ (Volunteer can be seated) Greet folks as they enter into the festival area from the Barn area, check and make sure they have a festival pass, and answer questions.
- Artisan Checkin Team ~ Assist the Artisan director in helping setup the Artisans
- Fish Print T Team ~ You will assist kids and festival attendees with making fish print Ts. You will have to handle paints (and fish of course).
- Beverage Server Assistant (21+) ~ Workers will assist our beverage server captain, at serving up beer and non-alcoholic drinks. Volunteer must be 21+ years of age.
- Grounds Keeper Attendants ~ Worker scout for trash and housekeeping/resupply needs on the grounds about every 45 minutes (in between sets), notifying staff if there is something that needs attention.
