Community Programs
Hey there Ocracoke Alive friends!
On Saturday, Sept 5th, live music is coming back to Ocracoke! The Ocracoke Interfaith Relief and Recovery Team is hosting a fundraising concert on the steps of the Berkley Barn, featuring Coyote, Molasses Creek, Raygun Ruby, Barefoot Wade, the Nobody Circuit, and Toaster Oven. All proceeds will go to the Dorian relief effort on Ocracoke Island. Many thanks to the Don and Catherine Bryan Cultural Series for assisting in funding for this OIRRT event through Ocracoke Alive. Attend in Person: If you are going to be on Ocracoke and want to attend, you can sign up for a concert time-slot online by clicking here. In order to stay safe in the face of COVID-19, tickets are being sold as 45 minute time slots. Please have a mask on hand to wear when you are checking in for your ticket/wristband, or going inside the barn to use the facilities. Thank you for understanding as we navigate the challenges presented by COVID-19. The in-person portion of the benefit concert is an outdoor, weather dependent event. If the in-person portion of the event is cancelled, you will be refunded your $10 ticket fee to your original payment method. Eventbrite does not refund their processing fees. Watch Online: The musical performances will be live-steamed via OIRRT's Facebook page, rain or shine! https://www.facebook.com/OIRRT Make a Donation to OIRTT. Proceeds from this event will go to the Ocracoke Interfaith Relief and Recovery Team, and further the recovery from Hurricane Dorian on Ocracoke Island. Online watchers and folks wishing to contribute to OIRRT are encouraged to do so through their website at https://www.oirrt.org/donate |
The Arts Partnership and Arts Week:
Each year, Ocracoke Alive works with visiting artists, helping bring them to students at Ocracoke School through the Arts Partnership program and Ocracoke School Arts Week. Ocracoke Alive also coordinates visiting artists and presenters throughout the year in the community. As details of each year's program emerge, we will publish them here. Due to COVID 19, Ocracoke Alive partnership possibilities with the school and the community will be determined later when we deem that we can safely create programming for our audiences. Stay tuned!
