Deepwater Theater Damaged by Hurricane Dorian ~ As you have probably heard on the news, Ocracoke Island received significant damage from Hurricane Dorian when the eye of the storm came over the island on Friday, September 6. It will be a number of months before any tourism will return to the island. Residents and businesses are busy now gutting houses and making repairs and working hard to rebuild. Ocracoke Alive’s headquarters at Deepwater Theater received 3 feet of water.
Because of the impact of the storm, we will have to cancel many of our 2019 fall events. We are looking forward to returning in 2020, and hope that you can join us then.  Feel free to call or write if you have additional questions, suggestions, comments, or concerns.  If you would like to make a contribution to recovery on the island, we have two recommendations.

(1) Donation to Ocracoke Alive to assist in repairs to Deepwater Theater
(2) Donations to the general Ocracoke community through the Outer Banks Community Foundation Disaster Relief Fund.
Thank you for all your support!
