Nonprofit Booth Application 2019
The 2019 Ocrafolk Festival is inviting all Ocracoke nonprofits to participate in this year's event (due to space limitations, we cannot accommodate non-profits that do not have a presence on Ocracoke Island). It is a great opportunity for local organizations to spread the word about their activities and even do a little bit of fundraising! While the festival runs from June 7 to 9, non-profit booths will be at the festival only on Saturday, June 8th, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nonprofits are responsible for bringing their own table, chairs, tent, etc, unless they choose to rent tables and chairs from the festival. No electricity is provided.
Application deadline April 1. We have limited space for booths. The deadline for your application is April 1. We encourage you to respond to this notice as soon as possible. Although you can check in with us after the deadline about availability, requests submitted AFTER April 15 might not be granted if all spaces are filled. Non-profits will be given confirmation by April 15th.
1. Time: On the Saturday of the festival, please check in at the Info Tent. Plan to have your display set up and your vehicle moved to the designated parking areas by 9 AM. Golf carts are considered vehicles and also need to be moved from festival grounds. Space identification numbers will be in place by 7:15 AM. We may not have a complete list of booth locations until Saturday morning.
2. Food Sales: The festival coordinates all food sales at the event in order to avoid duplication. If you intend to sell food or drinks, please let us know the details on the application form. All entities selling food must be based in Hyde County and must fill out Hyde County Temporary Food Permit Forms as listed on the Food Vendor Application Page.
Food must be prepared off site at a location licensed for such purposes by the Hyde County Health Department, or receive a special license from the Hyde County Health Department to prepare food on festival grounds. All food vendors (non-profits included) must also fill out an Application for Temporary Food Establishment (TFE) Handling Permit and send it in to Hyde County. The county requires that you send in this form in order to sell food at the festival. Please call the county regarding the fee listed on the form. The festival is unable to provide electricity to any vendors and generators are not allowed on festival grounds (making onsite food preparation licensing almost impossible). If you have any questions please contact Roni Collier, Hyde County Health Department. [email protected]. 252-926-4380.
