Ocrafolk Festival 2019 Food Vendor Application

The Ocrafolk Festival has limited spaces open to food vendors.  Applicants must be Ocracoke or Hyde County based businesses and will be selected to reflect variety in regards to the overall food presentation of the festival, including the non-profit food sellers.

Feel free to contact David Tweedie at [email protected] or 252-921-0260 for clarification if you have any questions. Thanks!

Food Vendor Requirements (Other Information)
1. Food vendors must be Ocracoke or Hyde County based businesses (if you are a non-profit selling food, please apply on the non-profit page).

2. Food must be prepared off site at a location licensed for such purposes by the Hyde County Health Department, or receive a special license from the Hyde County Health Department to prepare food on festival grounds. All food vendors (non-profits included) must also fill out an
Application for Temporary Food Establishment (TFE) Handling Permit and send it in to Hyde County.  The county requires that you send in this form in order to sell food at the festival. Please call the county regarding the fee listed on the form.  If you have any questions please contact Roni Collier, Hyde County Health Department.  [email protected]. 252-926-4380.

3. Due to space limitations and varying non-proft participation, the Ocrafolk Festival may be unable to fit all food vendors at the Ocrafolk Festival every year.  Consideration will be given to those businesses unable to participate in previous years in addition to other factors.

4. Schedule: In 2019, there will be food sales opportunities on Friday & Saturday nights at the Berkley Manor, and Saturday during the day at teh Ocracoke School Circle. Although the festival occasionally schedules a food vendor on Sunday of the festival, in general all food vendors are on Saturday of the event.  Please let us know if you are interested in serving food on Sunday.

5. Food Booth Fee, Space Size & Table Rental Fee: A single space is approximately 10’x10’.  You must furnish your own tables and chairs unless you choose to rent them from the festival.  The fee for food vendors is 5% of total sales. Rental fee is $20 for a banquet table and 2 chairs.

6. Taxes: Vendors are obligated to collect NC sales tax on all sales, and will be responsible individually for paying the sales tax to the state.

7. Time:
On  Saturday of the festival, please check in at the Info Tent. Plan to have your display set up and your vehicle moved to the designated parking areas by 9 AM. This year, you may use a golf cart to resupply your food booth.  Please let us know if you will be using a golf cart to resupply, and we will provide you with a pass to post on your cart. Space identification numbers will be in place by 7:15 AM.  We will not have a complete list of booth locations until the week of the festival.

8. Cleanup: Help us keep the residents of Ocracoke Village happy with our presence by cleaning your area before you leave. Thanks!

9. Inclement Weather: It is highly recommended that you observe the weather forecast and come prepared for rain if necessary.

10. Contact Information: For more information or answers to questions regarding the Ocrafolk Festival feel free to contact the staff at or [email protected].

Vendor Online Form
By submitting this application I agree to adhere to the application rules listed above and that I am sending in the Hyde County Application for Temporary Food Establishment Handing Permit. I understand that the Ocrafolk Festival will be required to send the list of food servers to Hyde County, and that the County will be double checking to make sure that all vendors have filed the required forms. Failure to do so will prevent vendor participation in this year's festival.
